Mildred V. Richey, 97, of Big Stone Gap, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap.

She was a life-long resident of Dayton, Oh. and had lived in Big Stone Gap for the past ten years. She was a retired from the Rikes Dept. Store in Dayton, ladies alterations. She was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene, N. Main St, Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Richey Jr; a daughter, Mary Alice Ballengee; a son, John Edward Richey and a great grandson, Spencer Richey.

Surviving are three sons, Jack Richey of Ft. Myers, Fla, Norman Richey of Tuscon, Ariz. and James Richey of Vandalia, Oh; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Delbert Butts of Centerville, Oh; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held Saturday at the 1st Church of the Nazarene, Dayton. Funeral services followed with the Rev. Don Burris officiating. Committal services were conducted Saturday at the Polk Grove Cemetery in Butler Township, Oh.

Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 7031 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415-2537. Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, was in charge of arrangments.
