George Holmes/Rose Pearson Descendants

Grandmother Anderson’s paternal line. Arrived in America, Philadelphia, from Ireland before 1840. In Ireland had lived near Belfast, probably some of the Scotsman moved there to improve English control of Ireland.

After arrival in America spent time in the Philadelphia area and then moved on to western Illinois. Grandmother Anderson was sent to “finishing school” at Toulon Academy starting a traditional emphasis upon education that has carried through the family to this day.
