Richardus de Horne Descendants

The Horney family is in my mind the second most important family line of which we are a part. Elizabeth Horney is among the earliest of our ancestors reliably documented by those researching our line. She and John Anderson are the founders of the Anderson line. Later we encounter the Horney line through a grand-niece of Elizabeth Horney: Margaret Horney who married Elizabeth’s grandson, Harmon.

The Horney family figures into the family history at nearly every turn, they were always on farms near at hand in the communities where the Anderson clan members lived. John and Elizabeth’s three daughters married their first cousins in the Horney line, all nephews of Elizabeth.

The Horney family was also prominent in the history of pre-revolutionary Delaware and Maryland. They played role in the history of North Carolina and Ohio, members of the family settled and helped develop early Indiana and Illinois. These families and their roles will be discussed more fully when we introduce the individual families.
