Nicholas Robinson/Hannah Metheny Descendants
This family is important in establishing our relationship to the Quakers. Elizabeth Robinson married Abijah Coffin, they had two daughters, only one of whom survived to adulthood. Priscilla Coffin is that daughter and our great-great grandmother.

Hannah Methany, wife of Nicholas Robinson, has a birth date (1740) which is 2 years later than her son William’s (1738). Another website (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~andersholmes1936/AndersonGenealogy/p257.htm) has Hannah’s actual birthdate at Oct 10, 1740.
Just an interesting note:
I have come across that birth date for William’s brother John’s wife, Hannah Clark whose birthdate was 10m 10d 1740 (OS). I saw it in a document from the Randolph County Historical Society (Indiana). I also have a published story written by a Michael George Robinson about his Robinson ancestry who was also associated with this Historical Society. He says that William and John’s parents were Nicholas and Elizabeth (Williamson) Robinson who immigrated from Ireland. I was given a copy of this story from a distant cousin and I don’t know this author. I am sure the Randolph Historical Society could put you touch with the author if you would like to pursue this.

Wendy,
Thanks for the alert. I will be checking this one out. I thought I had been a bit more careful in checking dates to be sure I did not have this kind of error. Somehow this one slipped past me. I have a feeling the Hannah Metheny’s birth date is closer to that of her husband (1710). Guess I will have to delve into Hinshaw again and see if I can’t locate the correct birth year.
