Third generation of the Anderson Line
I have been adding commentary/stories to the third generation of the Anderson Line. This generation in the record here consists of the five children of John Anderson and Elizabeth Horney.
I had a brief exchange with Fonda Carroll who I used as a reference/source for the place of birth for Esther Anderson. Was not able to confirm the location, so have let it stand. Note that Esther is the oldest of the children and is presumed to have been born in North Carolina. The younger children, Lydia, John Horney, Rhoda and James were all born in either Maryland or Kent County, Delaware.
The Anderson Story is of little help here. Evelyn Halkyard Vohlen’s book Betebenner-Horney and Allied Families is also silent on these children. The only reference to the children is to be found in the will of John Anderson, probated in Xenia, Ohio in 1816. That will is transcribed pretty much verbatim in both of these sources.
I will be adding brief synopses of other children over the next few days. Please do take a look at the stories and add any comments or information you may have. Please do let me know if you see any glaring or not so outrageous errors.
Finally, for each member of this family I have provided a link to my web pages at RootsWeb Free Pages. This is where you will find Our Anderson Story in Narrative. You can scroll down to find the family members. This site also has links to a detailed genealogy created by The Master Genealogist and Second Site.
